Pierre Lapointe, Global Macro Strategist
Pierre is a seasoned financial market analyst who, throughout his career, has developed a multi-faceted approach to strategy including top-down (macroeconomic) and bottom up analyses with quantitative models. Prior to joining Brockhouse Cooper, Pierre was the Market Strategist & Quantitative Analyst with National Bank Financial. He has also worked with Laurentian Bank Securities as an Equity Strategist. Pierre is an accomplished public spokesperson, having provided extensive commentary on activity and trends in financial markets to several English and French-language media outlets. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Finance from HEC Montreal.
Alex Bellefleur, CFA, Financial Economist
As a Financial Economist, Alex is responsible for analysis of markets and trends, and collaborates with Pierre Lapointe, Global Macro Strategist, in the preparation of the Daily Global Strategy Note. Alex was most recently an Associate Analyst at Moody’s Investors Service where he was responsible for credit analysis of international sub-sovereign debt and monitored and forecasted economic trends in Canada. In addition, Alex also authored and co-authored a number of Moody’s publications. Alex graduated from the University of British Columbia with a Master’s degree in Economics and is a CFA charterholder.
