Patrick L. Belland

President

Mr. Belland has been instrumental in the growth and development of the firm, with particular emphasis on the Capital Markets trading division.  He also established Brockhouse Cooper’s U.S. office and led the pension consulting sales effort in the region.  He worked closely with the South African affiliate, influencing the structure and operations of both securities trading and transition management.  In 2002, Mr. Belland initiated and led the sales effort to secure a business relationship in Japan with an asset management firm that today leverages the firm’s manager research into the Japanese pension market. He holds an Honors Bachelor of Arts (Economics) degree from McGill University.

Howard Messias

Executive Vice President, Institutional Advisory Services

In 2000, Mr. Messias joined Brockhouse Cooper as Chief Financial & Compliance Officer.  He completed a membership with the NASD (now FINRA) allowing the firm to compete as a U.S. regulated broker-dealer.  He also successfully negotiated a membership on the London Stock Exchange (LSE), marking the first time a North American firm was granted remote membership status.  Mr. Messias is a Chartered Accountant (Canada and South Africa) and a registered Principal with FINRA and IIROC.  He graduated with a Bachelor of Commerce and a Bachelor of Accountancy, both from the University of Witwatersrand, South Africa.

Annie Sinigagliese, CA

Chief Financial Officer

As CFO, Ms. Sinigagliese oversees the accounting functions of Brockhouse & Cooper Inc. and Brockhouse & Cooper International Inc. Prior to joining the firm, Ms. Sinigagliese worked for two top accounting firms and for the Montreal Exchange as financial and compliance examiner and trading investigator. She became a chartered accountant in 2001 and obtained her trading registration in 2007.

Eric Fontaine

Investment Consultant & Director, Multi-Manager Strategies

Mr. Fontaine joined Brockhouse Cooper in 2002 as a consultant. Prior to joining the firm, he spent the previous 14 years working as a consultant and actuary for Segwick/Mercer and Morneau Sobeco. He is a Fellow of the Canadian Institute of Actuaries and the Society of Actuaries and was awarded the CFA designation in 1999. Mr. Fontaine holds a Bachelor of Science (Mathematics - actuarial studies) from the Université de Montréal.

Pierre E. Collins

Investment Consultant

Mr. Collins joined Brockhouse Cooper in 2002 as a consultant to the firm's institutional investor clients, working on international and domestic manager structure and search projects.  Prior to joining Brockhouse Cooper, he held various positions, including Treasurer, at the Workplace Health, Safety and Compensation Commission of New Brunswick.  He is a Chartered Accountant and was awarded the CFA designation in 2003.  Mr. Collins holds a Bachelor of Science (Computer Science) degree from the University of New Brunswick.

Eric Bolduc

Vice President, Implementation Services

Mr. Bolduc leads the team responsible for assisting plan sponsors with the implementation of their portfolio changes.  Since joining the firm’s securities team in 1999, Mr. Bolduc has worked in settlements, fixed income securities, European equity securities, and transition management.  He has completed his IIROC licensing examinations as well as the FINRA Series 24 and 37 exams.  Mr. Bolduc graduated from the Honours Program in Business Administration (HBA) at the University of Western Ontario’s Richard Ivey School of Business.

Jamieson S. Ritchie

Director, Capital Markets Trading

Since joining the securities trading desk in 1995, Mr. Ritchie has worked in settlements, international and domestic equity trading, and equity sales.  In 1997 he was appointed Head of North American Equity Trading and in 2005 became Head of Global Equity Trading.  In 2009, Mr. Ritchie became Director of Capital Markets Trading.  Jamie graduated with a Bachelor of Arts (Economics) from McGill University and was awarded the CFA designation in 1998.

Michael Avedesian

Director, Capital Markets Sales

Since joining Brockhouse Cooper in 1996, Mr. Avedesian has held several positions within the Capital Markets division, working in North American and International Settlements, as a Sales Trader on the North American, Asian and European desks, and Manager of the trading team.  In his current role, he leads the international sales effort for the company's global equity execution services and the Global Macro Research product. He is also responsible for managing the 24-hour global trading team.  Prior to joining Brockhouse Cooper, Mr. Avedesian worked for Pegasus Marketing in Montreal.  He is a graduate of Mount Allison University in Sackville, New Brunswick, with a Bachelor's degree in economics.   

Douglas J. Simsovic

General Counsel & Chief Compliance Officer

Mr. Simsovic performs the dual roles of general counsel and Chief Compliance Officer at Brockhouse Cooper.   Prior to joining the Brockhouse Cooper, Mr. Simsovic practiced law (Corporate Commercial) with Heenan Blaikie in Montreal for nearly 10 years.  He received his LLB from the University of Montreal.  He also holds a Masters in Political Science from the University of Western Ontario in London, Ontario and a Bachelor in Political Science from Concordia University in Montreal.

Rod Peck

Director of Technology

As Brockhouse Cooper’s senior technology leader, Mr. Peck is responsible for developing and implementing innovative technology solutions that keep the company at the forefront of the industry.  Prior to joining Brockhouse Cooper, Mr. Peck was Director of Communications Solutions at Montreal-based Positron where he was responsible for directing a team of 35 hardware and software engineers. He brings with him over 12 years of experience leading development teams creating high reliability voice and data network infrastructure solutions and public safety call handling solutions.  Mr. Peck holds a joint Honours Bachelor of Mathematics in Computer Science and Business Administration from University of Waterloo and is pursuing his MBA at McGill University in Montreal.

Deanna Allen

Vice President, Marketing & Communications

At Brockhouse Cooper, Ms. Allen is responsible for the Brockhouse Cooper brand, its corporate image, marketing campaigns and materials and promotional activities. Prior to joining Brockhouse Cooper, Ms. Allen was responsible for stakeholder relations and communications with a health informatics agency and an international grain marketing company. She was also Director of Communications with Assante Corporation, a TSX-listed wealth management firm with a network of operations extending across Canada and the U.S. Ms. Allen holds an Honours Bachelor of Journalism (French minor) from Carleton University in Ottawa and studied at the Université de Savoie in Chambéry, France.
